Running of a company is a formal and procedural affair which will entail expenses. In case you are starting small, you may, at this stage, think of working as a partnership or as a new concept in India i.e., limited liability partnership. Whereas in the former, registration, which is simple, is advisable but not compulsory, the latter requires compulsory registration. Companies also require compulsory registration. You may contact some local CA or Advocate for completing the formalities of registration.

1. Do I need to register a company.

It is a very serious question, basically depends

a) are you doing alone?? If yes, there is no need to do company registration. You can apply for VAT or Service Tax, it should be fine.

b) are you doing alone?? If no, you can either make a Private Limited Company or Partnership Company or LLP Company

2. If yes, what is the complete procedure.

You can approach local CA or Company Secretary in your area.

3. How much money and time will be required for this registration process.

It usually starts with applying a

a) Director Identification Number

b) Digital Signature

c) Company Name

d) Incorporation

You can start with paidup capital Rs. 1,00,000/- it wull cost about Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000/-

4. I stay in a rented flat, do I need any kind of NOC?

If you put a board you might have to take permission of your owner, for property tax he might be charged for commercial purpose, as well lighting & water might become commercial aswell. If full procedure is followed.
