If a nephew takes a non-substitute right from the joint property on behalf of the uncle, will he have to pay the duty ?

Stamp duty is payable irrespective of the type of property purchased — under-construction, new completed or re-sale. It is payable on the value of the property or on the circle rate (price of the property or land in a region, published and regulated by the State government), whichever is higher.

Stamp Duty Registration Factors

  • Age of the Property
  • Value of the Property
  • City or location of the Property
  • Gender and age of the Property owner
  • Usage of Property
