Stamp/court fees for filing a lawsuit

Can someone tell me what the Court fees are for filing a lawsuit where the damages sought are in crores. I mean, is there some formular with a cap after certain amount? If so, what is that maximum Court Fee or Stamp fee?

Thank you.

Court fees for filing a suit for damages in crores of rupees vary depending on the jurisdiction and the specific court. In India, the court fees are typically calculated as a percentage of the claimed amount. Here's a general idea of the court fees for filing a suit for damages in crores of rupees: - For claims up to ₹1 crore: 2% to 4% of the claimed amount - For claims between ₹1 crore to ₹10 crores: 1.5% to 3% of the claimed amount - For claims above ₹10 crores: 1% to 2% of the claimed amount So, for a claim of: - ₹5 crores: Court fees would be approximately ₹7.5 lakhs to ₹15 lakhs - ₹10 crores: Court fees would be approximately ₹10 lakhs to ₹20 lakhs - ₹50 crores: Court fees would be approximately ₹50 lakhs to ₹1 crore Please note that these are rough estimates and actual court fees may vary depending on the specific court, jurisdiction, and other factors. It's best to consult with a lawyer or check with the court directly for accurate information.
