Shops & Establishment act

Hi,

Can anyone guide me as to whether Gujarat falls under the Bombay shops and Establishment Act?

I am working with a Contract Research and Services Organisation(Pharma R&D) in Ahmedabad. I would like to know which Acts would be applicable to us i.e. Factories Act, ID Act Etc.

I am confused as we are not a manufacturing firm but provide outsourced services to our clients like we do formulation and development of products at lab scale and pilot scale. We have 27 employees and are registered under the Indian Companies Act.

Dear Friend,

Each State in India is having a separate Shops and Establishment Act. But some of the section in the Act may be remain same. You have to refere the Act.

Yes but nowhere have i come accross Guajarat Shops and Establisments Act.

I too feel that there is no separate act for the State of Gujarat but the Bombay Act is made applicable to Gujarat. For the other part of your query, I feel that the link provided below of gujarat industires department would be very useful to you.

Factories act would not apply to your company.
