share of property

I'm going to marry a divorced person, who has a son 18yrs old. I have a daughter 1yr old. I want to know that after our marriage does his son become a legal heir of my property , even if i don't adopt him?? his son is in his mother's custody.

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether a stepchild can legally inherit your self-acquired property in the UK. Generally, a stepson does not automatically become a legal heir to your property unless it was acquired by his father (your spouse) and he is considered a Class II heir. For self-acquired assets, you can secure your daughter's inheritance through gifts or a registered will. It's highly recommended to consult a local legal professional for precise advice tailored to your specific situation, especially as the stepson is nearing adulthood.

No is the answer.

Custody and inheritance are two different subjects, do not mix them up.

Son has a right in the property of his father and not his "step mother".

It would be better to contact and consult a local prudent lawyer for appreciation of facts/ documents and professional advise.
