Serving legal court documents

If the defendant is avoiding accepting my court document, what are the alternatives to serve him/her. Newspaper publication is costly. I need to serve my TP documents on two people. 1 in mumbai and the 2nd in UP. Please help. Thanks

Ms. According to S.144 illustration (f) of Evidence Act,1872 - if a party is not responding and your post is returning as "refused" or "unavailable" ( REGISTERED POST ACKNOWLEDGEMENT DUE) then the Court may presume that common course of business has been followed.
