section 384 of IPC

I am not police personal but I used police dress and conducted MV checking and from defaulter I collected sum of Rs 300. the police arrested me from spot and chargesheeted under section 384 of IPC . whether my act attracted under this section?

You may not be persecuted for 384IPC , but certainly can be booked in many other section of IPC.
