Hello Aman Tripathi, I acknowledge your question. Section 124A of IPC speaks about the offence of sedition, under IPC it is dealt under the head of offences against state. It says that whosoever by words either spoken or written or in any such means attempts in bringing hatred or disaffection towards the government established by the state. It basically refers to speeches or acts of people that lead to revolting against the state. The punishment for the same is imprisonment for 3 years or the same can vary to life sentence, and fine. You can refer to the below link for further understanding with the help of landmark cases.

I hope I have answered your query, if you have any further query do drop here.

Have a good day.
