Safety of travellers in india: boarding & lodging

Dear All

Firstly, thank you for the time spent reading this. Your help will be  highly appreciated.

As we all know, in India, the safety is the biggest concern of travellers. Especially true for females. A woman is not safe on the street , in a bus , in a train or in a house. A woman in India does not feel safe even in a hotel! Why is it so?  It is under th consumer protection laws that the resident in a hotel or lodge is covered. However, honestly I would like to know why are strong implementation of these laws not done?

The biggest issue why crimes keep happening is that there is no fear in the mind of the law-breaker.

We need to change that. We must come up with handful of big strong cases which will be strongly publicised by the media. The biggest issue why criminal activities continue unabated is lack of FEAR. We must instill this fear in the minds of the perpetrators.

Do let me know your thoughts. While  you are at it. Do take a look at the following such incident that happened

It will be solved only when we fallow olden days trend with respect to dress sense.  Temptation is natural thing no one can restrict it.

Hello Anita, As India is the biggest democratic country in the world, normally the liberty of living style is enormous and at the same time, the laws are also very liberal to the culprits who commit offence. When the government is in the process of making rigid rules against the culprit, it cannot oversee the liberty aspect of the culprits. Hence, there should be some revolution from the public side to frame rigid rules against the culprits. Secondly, due to unemployment, poverty, un-education also the people are becoming criminal nature by adopting the crimes in the films etc. If one problem is solved everything will be set right. In the alternative the Govt has to take strong decision in making rigid rules against the culprits, irrespective of the opinion of the public. I also agree with Kamal in respect of woman aspect. Atleast while going outside the house, the dress code should be followed. If they want to wear the facny dress, it should be restricted to parties and functions only, not on roads and public places.
