Right to mental health.

Mental health describes either a level of cognitive or emotional well-being or an absence of a mental disorder

The World Health Organization defines mental health as a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.

Mental health is becoming alarming because many of us are facing the various psychological stressor. Mental illness cure can save the danger of many crimes related to the psychological behaviour.

The disease like Depression, OCD, Bipolar disorder are becoming just known in the country. but there are only few mental clinics providing mental cure.

Article 12 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) defines the right to adequate health in a relative fashion:

“… the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health.”

THE MENTAL HEALTH ACT, 1987 is ennacted for governing the mental health.

But,

Mental health and health care facilities are viewed as the negative concepts in india. But in the foreign countries Mental health awarness is provided to a large extent.

Mental Health awarness to be provided. There are lot of people who live the life under mental stress not aware how to get rid of it. Most feel that it is shame to see a Psychologist and psychiatrist.

First of all we should bring more awarness on the mental health and remove the stigma assosiated with it.

Most of the Medications and psycho theraphy is costly.

Even getting insurance coverage for mental problem is not easy.

It is necessary for the goverment to create mental health awarness among the general public.

The goverment should improve the mental health care facilities.

Mental health can enable the more productive and valuable human resource.
