Rent payment at time of vacating

A few years back, I took a residential place on rent and entered the premises on the 1st of the month. I paid advance rent.

Now, after a few years, the owner has given me notice to vacate . He gave me the notice on the 20th of the month. My question is, my rent liability is from 20th of this month to 20th of next month (ie, pro rata), or entire next month ?

Please suggest.

Your rent liability is upto 19th if 30 days time is given.

sir, thank you for your reply.

He further says that  " You stay till the 30th " - So, if I vacate by 19th, considering this statement of his (You stay till 30th), does it make me liable to pay rent till 30th ? or my liability ends on the date I vacate which would be 19th ? Please suggest. In anticipation,

You can occupy tenanted premises till last day of payment, which is not related to date of notice.
