1. You may delegate authority via a registered Power of Attorney (POA) to a Chennai baseed relative /friend to execute the Rent Agreement, who would attend the Sub Registrar's office on your behalf to sign the Rent Agremeent.

2. You can execute POA (Stamp duty: 500/-,  Registration: 1000/-)  in Delhi and courier it to
Chennai baseed relative /friend.

Thank You Hemant Ji for this suggestion.

But now thinking of 11months lease as this is legally valid without registration. I think, for this, it will suffice if I send a notarised copy of the rent agreement, with my signatires notarised in Delhi, to the tenant & the tenant sends a notarised copy of the same, with his signature notarised in Chennai to me.

Your valuable opinion please.

Geetha

1. An un-registered L&L Agreement (of any type or duration) for immovable property, will not be legally enforceable, during times of any dispute reaching the Court.

There is no neer for registration for 11 months rent agreement, you have 2 options
1. you can post yr signed agreement nd tenant can sign nd get it notarized in channai

2. You add signature of both parties in word document nd get it colour printout nd get it notarized.
