File RTI Application to  CPIO of Ministry of Legal Affairs and seek such information as follows:

Information solicited:

1)Please provide the date from which Indian Evidence Act is applicable in J&K union territory of India.

What are the facts? What is the context?

As per the concerned query!

Section 1of Indian Evidence Act, 1872 provides for the applicability of the Indian Evidence Act. It specifies
(1) the territories to which the Act applies and
(2) the courts and proceedings to which the law applies.

The Indian Evidence Act has been extended to the whole of India by Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019

Hope it is helpful
