Regarding 498 a

Hi All,

I have a question regarding 498A. Are there any recent amendments to 498 A sections as per the guidance from Supreme Court? Are parents and relatives of husband side are also involved in 498 A cases now a days? Also is husband immediately arrested in 498 A case? Please guide me.

There is no Amendment in S. 498a IPC. All that Hon'ble SC recently observed and made Rules is that without investigation husband/his side of male-females relatives should not be arrested and same needs to be strictly followed by all States’ police.

There is no such amendments in 498a as you stated above , The supreme court had made a rule that without investigation the husband and his relatives cannot be arrested by the police in 498a case , every state have to strictly follow it .
