Regarding 497 ipc

I need one advice on what is the scrapping of 497 Ipc by supreme court. Does the scrapping of 497 ipc means a husband can stay in live in relationship with his girlfriend if he is separated from his wife for more than 6 years and divorce process is going. So there wont be any problem in live in

Dear Sir,

The scrapping of Section 497 of the Indian Penal Code means that adultery is no longer a criminal divorce. But adultery can still be used as a ground for getting a divorce.

The court scrapped the section by stating that the section is unconstitutional and violates Article 14 of the Indian Constitution.

Adultery is no longer a criminal offence.
