Notification has been issued yesterday, inviting application for the post of District Judges in the Tamil Nadu Judicial Service. Last date for application is 16.07.2010 and the date of examination is 01.08.2010.

Is it possible for other Advocates outside Tamil Nadu to appear for the said exam?

Relevant extract of the eligibility clause 6 [i] of the Notification is as under:
"...in the case of candidates enrolled in the Bar Council of other States, they should submit proof of transfer of their enrollment to the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu."
From this, it appears that only advocates enrolled with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu either originally or on transfer, can apply.
