Hi.

If the society is registered under Societies Registration Act then it can sue and be sued. Go through that Act to find out the relevant provision of law.

An exporter from India exported dehydrated onion powder and garlic powder to california, u.s.a. The importer at u.s.a. is a trader. He supplied the imported materials to one of the manufacturers. After utilising these materials, the manufacturer had find some contaminated material inside and he had to destroy entire production. The manufacturer had claimed for compensation to its Insurance company.

Now whether Insurance company file a suit on exporter of India for compensation?
