If a property was purchased in Mumbai before 1983 but there was no stamp duty done.. then what process / charges will be required for doing stamp duty?
Also, what is registration.. how do I find out if the property was "registered" before 1983 ? is there some registrar stamp etc on papers ? What should be done if the property was not registered ?

Previously registration was done by paying nominal stamp charges for mumbai
if that is done then there shud some stamp and document number written in marathi or english
if this is not done then it is advisable to get it registered

Please suggest how to get this done... Will the prices to be paid be very high ? Where & how can we inquire about the charges & documents to be produced ?
