Dear Querist, After the completion of the investigation in a case, the Police files the challan report under Sec 173 CrPC along with all the relevant documents to prove the guilt of the accused beyond reasonable doubt. All the statements of witnesses along with material evidences are produced before the Court. The Police may also file an additional report along with some more documents subject to the grant of the leave of the Learned Magistrate. You may feel free to contact for any further clarification.
