Prior intimation was not taken before applying for upsc

I am currently working in PSU and had applied for UPSC exam but forgot to take prior intimation. Now while filling DAF for for interview, I need to submit Date of intimation taken. What should I do now. Can I intimate my employer now and fill that date in DAF form.

All that could be done now is submit the intimation now with a request that "the delay in furnishing the information is not wilful and it may kindly be condoned'
