Power of attorney for sale of immovable property

Respected Sirs,

Whether a  Power of Attorney (PoA) is to be mandatorily registered for sale of immovable property ?  If so, is there any rule that the same needs to be registered at a place where the property proposed to sold is located?

For eg: property is in say Assam, and the owner is say in Mumbai, whether the owner needs to travel to Assam and register the Power of Attorney or will he/she can register it in Mumbai?  If so whether the POA can be registered using Rs. 100/- stamp paper?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Registered power of attorney is required... you can register it in Mumbai...

Now it is not possible to register POA on only 100/- Rs. Stamp paper..

you have to pay the stamp as per the valuation of property in Maharashtra...

better you contact any nearest registrar office... you get all information.
