Power of attorney

Hello 

My wife owns a piece of residential land and it is a purchased land and She has given registered power of attorney to me for the said property . Now for certain reasons, I would like to transfer the proerty to my Dad's Name . Instead of Registered sale deed , Can I do a settlement deed .? (whether Son (me) to Dad sttelement is valid.?) 

I am thinking so to minimise the regisration cost .

Which state is the property located. because in some states like Haryana there is no stamp duty if property is transferred to immediate family member. Maybe similar provision exists there as well.

The property is in Tamil Nadu state. My question is whether a settlement deed can be done between SON to Dad. Usual Stllement happens between Dad to Son..
