Police statement - time

If I give statement to police, the police notes the time on the FIR. Is this the time when the complainant began narrating his complaint, OR the time when the complainant signs on the written complaint?

The time noted by the police on the FIR (First Information Report) is typically the time when the complainant began narrating their complaint, not when they signed the written complaint.

FIR Registration Process 1. _Complainant's Statement_: The complainant provides an oral statement to the police, detailing the incident or crime.

 2. _Police Recording_: The police officer records the complainant's statement, noting the time of receipt of the information.

 3. _FIR Preparation_: The police prepare the FIR, which includes the details of the complaint, the time of receipt, and other relevant information.

4. _Complainant's Signature_: The complainant signs the written complaint, acknowledging its accuracy. Time Notation on FIR The time noted on the FIR is usually the time when the police receive the initial information from the complainant, which marks the beginning of the investigation. Importance of Time Notation The time notation on the FIR is crucial, as it helps establish the sequence of events and can be used as evidence in court proceedings. Conclusion In summary, the time noted on the FIR is typically the time when the complainant began narrating their complaint, not when they signed the written complaint.

The police will register the time when the complaint was lodged by the complainant.

The time of registeration of FIR by police shall be the time recorded therein the FIR, which have no correlation with recording of statement of complainant or signing of written complaint by complainant.
