Peaceful protest / hunger strike

Hello, Do we need to get permission from the police for a peaceful protest or hunger strike (Solo) in vasant vihar area? If yes what is the procedure? Thanks in advance

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether permission is needed from the police for a solo peaceful protest or hunger strike in the Vasant Vihar area. While the Indian Constitution guarantees the right to peaceful assembly, reasonable restrictions apply for public order. Therefore, obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or permission from the local Vasant Vihar police station is generally required.

Even for peaceful protests and hunger strikes in Vasant Vihar, Delhi, police permission is generally required. While citizens have a fundamental right to assemble and protest peacefully under Article 19 of the Indian Constitution, this right is subject to reasonable restrictions in the interest of public order. Therefore, obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or permission from the local police station is necessary.

Very well analysed, opined and advised by learned senior experts, which I endorse and nothing more to add.
