Pagdi laws for landlords in mumbai

Hello, I am landlord of a chawl under Pagdi system. Now the land has come under slum cluster by SRA.

I want to ask whether my rights over the chawl has been terminated naturally or I still have the same rights to collect rent or any other amount.

Please guide. Thanks.

Quick Summary
A landlord in Mumbai, operating under the Pagdi system, is seeking clarification on their rights after the land was declared a slum cluster for an SRA project. They are concerned whether their right to collect rent has been terminated and if tenants now claim absolute ownership. Legal advice suggests that SRA schemes cannot extinguish property rights without due process or informed consent.

Hello,

As per me, SRA schemes are diffrent from pagadi property redevelopment. Contact local advocate and discuss issue with him.

Your rights in property cannot be extinguished except through the due process of law. SRA schme cannot be implemented without your informed consent or duly acquiring your rights.

Sir the tenants are saying that the land is now declared as slum so I don't have rights to collect rent and now they are the absolute owners of the property
