Online donation for a blog

Dear Experts,

I run a blog in individual capacity. I am thinking of asking the readers of the blog to voluntarily support the blog. They will do it without expecting anything in return and only with an intention to help me keep the blog running.

Few questions:

1. Is it legal to accept donation or money from the readers?

2. What should be kept in mind while accepting the money For example: Any receipts to be produced?

3. What will have to be maintained while filing income tax in India?

Thanks in advance

1. There's no legal infirmity in it.

2. You can acknowledge the payments by issuing a receipt and secure the copy of the receipts.

3. The details of donation and receipts.

Thank you @T. Kalaiselvan for your advice.

As a follow up question, will it be an issue if I am not registered as a company?

So long you are acknowledging the receipt of the donation, it will not be an issue irrespective of whether your company is registered or not
