Nominee for co-owned flat

When a housing property is owned by three family members, can nominee for the flat be one of the co-owners or has to be dofferent than the owners of the property?

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies who can be nominated for a co-owned flat. It explains that a nominee is designated to receive a member's shares upon their death and is crucial for estate planning. Importantly, a nominee can be any person, including one of the existing co-owners, and does not have to be a legal heir.

nomination is an instruction given to the society as to how the relevant member's shares should be transferred upon his death. The same assumes significance for estate planning purposes as well. A nominee can be any person and may not necessarily be the legal heir of the member
