Nominating minor grand children

My relative, who is widower,  is having drunkard daughter and son. He wants to nominate grand children aged 6 years. But that may require appointment of natural guardian. Is there any window, where in unlikely event, money will be deposited into bank fixed deposit until minors become majors.

I am talking about PF and return of capital on annuitant's demise.

Kindly guide.
