My sister in law left us for maternal home as I slapped her hard last week when my brother was not at home.
My parents were there and she left our home same day.My brother went her to bring back but she refused and accused us for demanding dowry.Fact is that we asked some money from her father to start my new business which was about to return from profit .
Now does demanding (i mean borrowing) this way is similar to dowry?If so how to save ourselves?

If it comes to court, most probably it will be taken as Dowry....Try to settle the dispute asap, you might get in trouble if she files 498a...

yes it can be taken as dowry and many other cases can be filed against you.
there is a safeguard for every case filed.
