Hi Forum,
I am krishna, and im getting married in december my wife wants to add my name to her name so i would need your suggestion on how to get the name changed legally and after getting changed in what all documents does she need to get the name changed? (passport, licence, voterid etc, educational certificates?). because we my be travelling abroad so there should not be any problem for the visa processing.

For the change of name in any circumstances, it must be published in the gazette of union of India. Procedure for change of name is as under
1.Publication in two national dialy Hindi and English qua the change of your name.
2. Apply to the department of Pulication situated at New Delhi along with copies of newpaper publication.
3. Furnish a requiste fee.
4. You shall get the copy of gazette same in two months time at your coreespondence address by registered post.
