As per the question asked by you, allow me to elaborate you what all these terms refer to in real life. See, basically Delhi Urban area is divided in three part.

1. Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD ) which is divided in three part as North, East and South. This area come under Delhi Government.

2. New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC ). This is the area which is under Central Government. Most of Central government buildings, offices, residences of officers , parliament, Rastrapati Bhawan etc. situated in this area.

3. Delhi Cantonment. This area is occupied by Defence. Managed by Defence and most of area is restricted to Civilians although it has some area earmarked for civilians.

All above three have their owns board for manage activities in their area. MCD occupied more than 90 percent area of Delhi and for their three MCD's members are elected through election from Delhi Voters of respective area.

(a) Corporation word is affixed which have more than 10 lakhs population.

(b) Council is affixed which has 1 to 10 lakhs population, and

(c) Towns having Less than one lakh population is simply called Municipality or Nagar Palika.

Hope your doubts are clear now!
