Minimum Wages

Dear All,

Our office is in New Delhi, one of our contractor is paying wages to his employees by breaking it into two parts i.e., Basic salary and HRA. I would like to seek clarifications

  1. Does Delhi Labour Law allows breakup of minimum wage? By breaking this cost, they are paying less PF to their employees.

Please guide.

Regards,

Generally wages are in two parts - Basic wages and Variable Dearness Allowance. HRA is not part of wages. However you can seek advice from Labour department of Delhi.
