Micro, small & medium enterprises

Dear All,
 
Our Company as per the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 falls under the category of small enterprise. My query is whether we have to apply to some authority for claiming the status as such or is it deemed status. Please advise.
