You might have paid in advance and seek the laid down norm and clarification from the insurance company.

Just a "Time Pass" question paper.

This is employer sponsored mediclaim policy ..for April to March. Without prior intimation, straightaway annual premium is deducted from Oct salary. When I had already notified death of mother due to covid on 1 August. HR dept tells nothing doing. No refund. Please guide whether proportionate refund for Aug to March , unexpired period is allowed by IRDAI, OMBUDSMAN

Regards

Jayanta

First, let your employer make a representation for a refund from such a company.  Depending on the reply, you can proceed further through IRDAI online grievance or Ombudsman or District forum, or all the forums.

Immediately file an online grievance in the portal in to IRDAI.  If HR has stated in writing, escalate it to higher authority and request for sending such representation to the insurance company officially.
