Mechanic took money - worked half way - not picking calls

Hello,

I gave my car to the mechanic for smoothening its steering and he returned it with smoother steering but it is still not like it was before. In addition, he has taken out engine cover, Bluetooth device and the side mirror is not working as well. I paid 5k through pay tm to him.

He is not picking calls now and when I called him the first time he said that he can do this much only.

What can be done?

It's a clear case of Negligence in duty by the service provider Suit in District Forum should be filed under consumer protection act. Serve him legal notice and try recovering it through the fear to proceed legally if possible if things didn't go well proceed legally.

1. You can file a Police FIR, requesting investigation and charge-sheet, for offences like Cheating, Intimidation, Fraud, Breach of Trust, Mischief etc.... against the person, supported with all relevant supporting Documents, Evidences & Witnesses.

2.  IF the Police does not take action, THEN you can file private criminal case u/s 156(3) Cr.P.C., in the local Magistrates court, seeking directions to the Police to investigate and file charge sheet.  The said Person may come down for settlement.
