Contested Means   : Disputed the claim of the petitioner.  Dismissed for defalut means, case is dismissed for not adducing the evidence of the petitioner, when the stage is fixed for the petitioner's evidence.  If petitioner remained absent contineously and failed to lead his/her evidence, case dismisses for the defualt.

It simple means that the Petitioner may not have appeared before Court on the date of hearing for 2-3 consecutive dates, therefore the Judge has dismissed your Divorce Petition since the Petition was not present to contest the same.

You can revive your Divorce Petition by filing an Application and getting the Order for dismissal in default set aside. Mind you, you'll have to satisfy the Judge as to why the Petitioner wasn't present on the date of hearing.
