Married in india, divorced in usa

Hello,

I was married in Mumbai under the Hindu Marriage Act.I then moved to USA and after a few years, got divorced from my wife in USA by mutual consent. We both now live in USA now but both are still Indian citizens.

Is the US divorce valid in India too?

If the US divorce is not valid in India, what steps should be taken to ratify the divorce in India?

US divorce is not valid in india since the marriage is under indian law and not under the US law. so please file divorce petition under hma in india because i think your wife might have some other plan.

It is valid if both have done mutally in USA. But if she files some cases in India, You have to prove that..

Again it is better and Safe to file Mutually in India too...

Arix sorry i dont agree with you, if the divorce in mutual in USA, then it is valid,

even after divorce you are still not relieved from your wife as per our great Indian law, she can still file for harrasment case against you and your family, the divorce in USA will be very helpfull then.
