Marriage certificate is not original but true copies

Hi All,

Me and my wife got married under special marriage act as our religion is different. So we had registered our marriage at marriage registrar office. We have received our marriage certificate after 30 days of notice period, but the certificate we have received is not an original document, they have given us TRUE COPIES.

I have asked officer to provide the original one as I need it to submit in Visa application. But according to officer original will be kept by authority only, it can not be issued to applicants.

I have submitted an application asking reason for not issuing original marriage certificate, I cant rely on their reply as i dont know how long it will take.

1)Do we have such law where origianl is not issued to the applicants?

2)Can this true copy of marriage certificate is valid for visa application? As i have heard they only accept original document.

Any suggestion on this or how to bring an original one?

Appreciating your help.

Thanks,

Jaydeep

Hi Nadeem,

Thank you for your reply, Yes I have already contacted visa consultant. But I just wanted to know if we have any rules in our constitution where the authority can not issue an original marriage certificate (but true copy only) to the applicants.

Thanks & Regards,

Jaydip
