Marine insurance

What are the differences between  intermediate and intentional storage insurance cover in an international trade? As an importer, what precautions one should take to protect own interest-particularly when importer makes staggered advance payment - there is no guarantee that exporter registers letter of Lien to avoid Bankruptcy type scenario, Import cargo moves via different transshipment hubs  -even move from mother vessel to feeder vessel ;; cargo lying at Port awaiting inspection- Container freight station before taking to destination facility

Kindly guide

Marine insurance companies would be interested in issuing a marine policy for import/export of the shipment up to the intermediate storage points and even extend the cover to include transit risk for the onward journey once the storage period is over.
