Man stabs to death wife in Malviya Nagar

JAIPUR: A yoga teacher allegedly murdered his 32-year-old wife in her sleep in Malviya Nagar's Saraswati Nagar area as he doubted her of having extra-marital affairs. Her body was recovered by the couple's children in a pool of blood on Tuesday morning. The husband is missing with the murder weapon, the police said.

According to the police, the deceased, Kavita Kumawat, was married to Dinesh Kumar for nearly 13 years. The couple has an 11-year-old son and a nine-year-old daughter. Dinesh's parents also live in the same house. His father had retired from Jaipur Dairy a few years ago.

"Dinesh used to be a yoga teacher, but has been unemployed for the past few months. He doubted his wife of having an affair with someone and it used to cause fights between them frequently," said a police officer.

Dinesh picked up a fight with Kavita on Monday night also. "The murder must have taken place after 11 pm as the children were awake and were with their parents till then. They then went to sleep in a separate bedroom," said the officer.

At around 8 am, Kavita's mother-in-law wondered why she had not woken up to prepare the children for school. "She sent one of the children to check on Kavita. The daughter found Kavita in a pool of blood on her bed," said the officer.

When Dinesh was found missing, his parents immediately realized what could have happened. Dinesh's father informed the police following which a team was rushed to their home. "It seems Dinesh used an object like screwdriver to stab Kavita's neck in a fit of rage. He fled after that," said the officer.

The officer added that family members of Kavita, who belonged to a village in Nagaur, were informed about her murder by the police. "After her uncle arrived here, we got post-mortem done," the officer said.

Meanwhile, teams have been rushed to various places in search of the husband. "We have verified the fact that Dinesh doubted his wife of having an affair with other family members. Further investigation is going on," said the officer.
