Is there any law recently passed, if the wife has cheated the husband by running off from the matrimonial home with her lover/boy friend, no maintenance or alimony shall be given to the wife. If there is any such law, pls mention the IPC & when it was passed. Thanks.

Sunil, S.125 CrPC is quite clear on this.

Suchitra, I just went through the S.125 CrPC, but it states the other way that the wife is entiled for maintenance even after divorce. I would request you to tell me what exactly S.125 CrPC states. Thanks in advance.

It is within 125 itself that if the wife has no sufficient reason to left her matrimonial home, she is not entilted for maintenance. Whether husband lodged any report for her elopment with another boy.

Yes, husband has lodged an FIR i.e a missing complaint. The Police authorities have also spoken to the wifes lover/boy friend based on the call details recd. from the mobile compancy.

Have you taken steps for restitution of conjugal right? Take legal steps as advised by your lawyer.
