Lost canvcelled passport

I have lost a passport which is already cancelled by passport office and has no valid visa stamped on it. I have lost it now. But I have the current valid passport with me . Am I required to carry the old cancelled passport while travelling abroad?  FIR/ Intimation to police for lost cancelled passport is required ?
