Loss of original parent documents

Sir,

I purchased a flat in Chennai and the said was registered in my name. I received original sale deed registered in my name, the original parent document received is misplaced and could not be located. I was told by my bankers that police complaint has to be lodged and also a paper advertisement should be released in this regard.

I need proper assistance in this connection and can anyone from Chennai help me?.

Sir,

Get the certified copy of the same and file a complaint for missing of the document.

Bank is right. After that apply for certified copy.

the bank is right for only if you file a complaint with police and publish that the original deed is missing in the newspaper you wont have any problem for someone might misuse it
