logo if used fr trde purposes comes under the definition of trade mark so it has to be registered under th trade mark s act if u really need protection. the same can be registered at delhi office. if u need to register any design then the same may also get registered at that ofice.

It is upto you how you want the trademark to be registered, for better protection as well as enforcement it is advisable to register the distinctive components of marks seperately. Otherwise,  there is nothing that bars registration of logo and trademark in one single application. As regards design you may file the same in Patent Office at New Delhi. Fee for trademark per class is 2500 and for design it is Rs 1000.

logo consist two part one as a trade mark and another as a copyright in the artistic work.

the copyright gives you the right in the artistic work, colour scheme, get up, lay out in which the logo has been presented and the trade mark gives the right in the word and also colour combination condition (new Act) and protection of both commenced from the IP Office Delhi (as desired) but difference is that if the logo is being used in relation to goods, you need to obtain one search certificate from IP Office before filing an application before the Registrar of Copyright and in case if the logo is to be used for providing services, no such certificate is required.

Mr.Preetam - as I understand - you want a logo to be registered.  Logo registration is a part of trade mark registration. LOGO could be filed by a separate application.  First ascertain relevant classes under NICE classification.
