Litigation Cost

In a Consumer Complaint... on what basis the Litigation Costs are awarded by the Court, as generally they are awarded as Rs 1,000 or Rs 2,000.

In case the complaint asks for the litigation costs of Rs 10,000, whether it is reasonable, when a complainant had appointed a Lawyer ?

Dear Mr. Raheja

Normally Consumer Forum grant very meagre amount as a Cost of litigation. However if you justify your litigation cost then court/forum can award you the same.

For this it would be better to attach the certificate of the Advocate, stating the fee charged by him.
