Renu is a Sales Manager(SM) in private Life insurance company .and has been star performer. She and insurance agents in her team have bagged many awards. There has been no complaint against her.
Funds of Unit Linked Insurance Plans did not perform well and after lock in period of 3 years the customer who surrendered their policies received app. 50% of the premiums paid by them, and hence suffered loss. Agents and customers lost faith and switched to LIC and old traditional policies.
Branch Managers (BM) and seniors started harassment and pressed SM’s to bring policies of self, family, relatives to retain the job.
Renu had applied for MBA under education policy of the company thru distance learning course of private university. BM and his favorite SM’s also applied.
HR head asked to route application thru Deptt. Head and all did so.
Fee was to be refunded on submission of marks sheet of each semester. Renu secured more than 70% marks submitted fee receipts and marks sheets for two semesters but did not receive refund and was verbally told that after finals she will get the same / and later her approval was not received from Head of sales. BM and other SM’s received reimbursements.
Exams of BM(a male) were written by his secretary( a female) and similarly other for other SM’s some one wrote the exams.
Renu mentioned this to new Regional HR head, verbally.
After sometime Renu was harassed with performance issues, and her expense reimbursements were delayed/denied, and she was terminated without giving any reasoning termination letter, but citing one month clause in appointment letter and notice pay and dues were paid to her.
1. She wants to fight her termination.
2. She wants BM to be sued for obtaining degree thru unfair means and to be terminated by the company, without directly coming into picture.
3. She wants the university to take action against study cum exam centre for allowing malpractices.
