Legal Profession

Learned Friends, we ,being enrolled in the roll of the Bar Council won't be able to do any full time job in any Concern as per the BCI Rules. I want to know whether a proprietorship firm or a Company can have its own panel of Advocates and offer legal services to its customers through the panel on receiving fees therefor. Kindly Share your views.

Dear friend

As for explanation part of your question I agree with the thing that a lawyer while practising cannot take up any other profession as per BCI rules. Regarding the practice keeping an Advocate Panel by the Company & Corporation it is a well- followed procedure that they keep it for their legal advice and for the presentation of case apart from hiring Advocate from outside for case purpose.

The panel of Advocate remains in the Company to give expert legal advice and if the Company hire senior lawyer then company Lawyer brief them the Company's Position to Senior Lawyer in argument stage in the Higher Courts.

yes. you can join any one of the legal firm as a junior advocate. and also you can join with some other advocates to form a firm to give consultancy in the legalmatters.
