We were trying to sell our house which is in my Father's name. But my father expired in the midst of this transaction. Now we are trying to get a legal heirship document. But the problem is the ration card was inactive for two years and hence got cancelled. We want to know how to get legal heirship document in the absence of ration card.

If you are in tamil nadu, approach your area thaislder office. Legal heir certificate is not mandatory for selling your father property and if the buyer satisfied, all the hair of your father can sell jointly without getting legal heir certificate.
