landlord and renter law

I want to know that is there any specific law in India, particular for landlord and renter?

I want to read it out before I go for rent. thank you

Quick Summary
In India, landlord and renter relations are governed by specific laws that vary by state. It's advisable to familiarise yourself with the relevant state's rent control act before entering into a rental agreement. For example, in Maharashtra, the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999, is the governing legislation.
