my dad has paid half off the amount to land owner ...now my dad has been rejected the land because of some problems...and the land owner not giving our paid money to is back

please can any one tell me which (IPC) Section I should select and do case against him

Thank you for asking your question
As you have said your father made a half payment against the property and you want that money back from the seller.There are few things which i want to know:-
1. Any sale of agreement /sale deed you have recieved ?
2.As if sale of agreement made, do you get possession of the property or any title against it ?
3. If he gave you the possession then Under sec53A of Tranfer of property Act,1882 (Doctrine of part performance) may apply by the seller in that case that all things made duly .
4. If you wants to file a case under IPC sec420 you may highlight, which talks about Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, ( in that particular instance you cam say that the property which was shown to you was different to which the sale of agreement made.
